Attachment uploaded from dbv & deleted from dbv still showing in web view

We have been live with NXT for about a year. One of the first things we noticed is that some of our media attachments are missing. As time allows, we try to understand what's missing and why. Our dbm ran the script for media files stored in Classic to bubble up to web view, yet the mystery remains.

Most recently test attachments that were uploaded from dbv and later deleted from dbv still show in web view. I am wondering if anyone else has had this experience or has any solid recommendations to resolve this issue.

Interesting, I have not encounter this before.

so if a dbv media file is deleted, you may still see the file in webview until the sync happened, 30-60minutes.

I just deleted a dbv media file on my test envirionment. I will report back if it is gone from webview tomorrow morning

@Jeannie Goings I'll be interested to see what @Alex Wong finds because my understanding is that the sync is a one way (dbv to wv only) one time event. So, attachments added solely in webview will not sync back to database view, nor will changes made in either environment after the initial sync.

As far as media attachments missing. While the help information Alex shared may explain some of them not appearing, what we have also discovered is if the media/attachment is linked to a proposal/opportunity it will only show on the opportunity record in webview and NOT on the attachments tile.

so the attachment in webview still exists, so what Dan said is true, one-way sync to webview.

@Dan Snyder thanks for your response. I am aware of the one-way sync which is why I have instructed users to attach from dbv ONLY. I am also aware of the delay for information/attachments to bubble up to web view While the delay improved from the early days of RENXT, I suspect there will always be a delay.

And for users who worry that dbv will go dark, I don't see that happening if Blackbaud isn't able to resolve the syncing issues for attachments.

@Alex Wong thank you for the information that you shared. The attachments were uploaded and deleted days ago and still appear in web view.

My concern is if an attachment is associated to the wrong record and later removed and the user doesn't think to check web view to ensure that the attachment no longer displays… that's a problem. Especially when there are multiple donors with the same/similar name.
