Has anyone configured a count formula in NXT list?

Has anyone been successful in configuring a filter or output that formulates a count of on 1:N datapoints? We are working on an engagement score and wanting (for each person const record) to assign certain number of points based on the count of events attended in a given FY or count of volunteer involvement in a given FY.

Doable or No?

    @Cara Valentine - There's a third-party app that integrates with RE NXT that does this for you. It's through Red Arc, and includes a 21 day free trial if you want to try it out. Here's a link with more info:

    Thanks! We are actually in the trial period with RedArc now… the point scales are configured through NXT lists. My question is more about the list configuration capabilities as we're wanting our point structure to include something like…

    If a person const record has 1 event attendance this FY give them 1 point
    If a person const record has 2 event attendance this FY give them 2 points
    And so forth.

    It doesn't seem like NXT lists allow you to create a nestled filter that includes a formula to get the count value we're after…. throwing it out to the community to confirm that our testing is a system limitation and not us as users.

    @Cara Valentine - Your findings are correct, its not possible filter on events within a constituent list. However, you can filter on event attendance within a constituent query - if you make it static, you can link it to a constituent list. The down side is you'll occasionally have to manually refresh the static query results; if you have RE:Queue this can be automated.

    @Cara Valentine
    I have met the people from RedArc in BBcon before, and they are really friendly and willing to make change that suit other types of need. So that's one route you can take and ask their support.

    Another option is to DIY (or paid someone else to do this). Using SKY API and SKY Add-in, you can create your own Engagement score however your business rule dictates it and add it as a custom tile onto the constituent page on webview.

    A template is available to get started on creating a tile: https://community.blackbaud.com/forums/viewtopic/586/69847

    Community has many post on how to get data (list, query, etc), and a result tile can look something like this:

  • @Austen Brown got it- right now RedArc only offers the point system to be configured via list. 6 months or so they will have the query capabilities.

    Such a shame RE doesn’t allow you to easily join to other related datatables!
