Summary of Volunteer Hours

When running a query of Constituents, it would be helpful to have a Summary of Volunteer Hours available in the Output tab (like Summary of Total Gift Amount is) to get a clearer picture of Constituents' engagement. It is cumbersome and time-consuming to have to run a separate Standard Report of Volunteer Hours and cross-reference to manually add those hours into an Excel spreadsheet. Does anyone have a better way for me to pull this information?

@Barb Thomas Hi Barb, if you use Export instead of the Query output fields, there is an output for volunteer hours. This knowledgebase might help:

Thank you, but Export still lists data from individual timesheets separately and I have many constituents who have 15-20 timesheets per year. It also does not integrate into a query. Specifically, I am running a Query of alumnae engagement with us over the past 10 years, including giving, volunteering, and event attendance. I can get summaries of Total Giving and Total Events, but not a summary of total Volunteer Hours.

@Barb Thomas Ah, gotcha! So, you'd have to have all the sheets in your output and use a formula like =Sumif, which is still one more extra step. Hmm. This is probably a great use-case for something like PowerBI, maybe someone who is currently in Dev Days will pop in with a good solution!
