Importing Event Registrant Attributes - Has anyone found a way to do this?

Our institution hosts fundraising events and we use special events in Altru for the purpose of selling tickets and sponsorships online and tracking registrants. We need to add registrant attributes after constituents are already registered in the event. We worked with Blackbaud Support and confirmed that the only way to update registrant attributes in bulk is for the constituent not to be already registered in the event. If a constituent has already registered for the event the import will not work and the attribute will need to be added manually.

For our team, manually updating registrant attributes is not sustainable and we were looking forward to using them for prospect research, marketing, ROI and financial purposes. We also use Omatic Cloud and I have a support question out them to see if they have a way, but some of their knowledgebase articles allude to not having the capability.

Has anyone found another solution for importing registrant attributes in bulk?
