Gift Export: Linked Proposal System Record ID is Wrong

I am trying to create a report that includes information from both gift records (appeal, receipt amount, pledge balance, etc.) AND opportunities that are linked to those gifts (ask date, ask amount, etc.). Unfortunately, for some reason gift exports do not allow you to include very many fields from linked proposals, but it does have an option for the proposal system record id. I figured I could export the opportunities in a separate constituent export including the proposal system record id and then include linked proposal system record id in the gift export and then use that to merge the exports in excel.

The problem is, the Linked Proposal System Record ID in the gift export DOES NOT export the system record id of the linked opportunity. The other linked proposal fields that are available to include in gift exports work as expected (giving me the correct purpose, proposal name, etc. of any opportunity that is linked to each gift), but the id returned by the Linked Proposal System Record ID field is completely different from the actual system record id for the opportunity linked to the gift.

What is this field actually outputting? Is there any way to use it, or anything else to accomplish what I am trying to do?

Have you checked the idea bank on this? I would also look there. If you find an existing idea - chances are you are not alone. Vote on it. If one doesn't exist create it. Either way post the link back here - others will vote and BB is watching the idea bank carefully.

I would suggest you to open a support case and report this as a BUG to Blackbaud. it should not be reporting wrong data

As for what you want to do, unfortunately the only other options are (1) direct querying of RE database using SQL (2) SKY API

@Michael Fthenakis In a town hall webinar on Query lists there were very direct questions of Blackbaud on when to add an idea and when to contact support and I'm lifting Alex's response (not that he needs my assist on this - but I do like to correct myself when I give a bad response)

This is a bug and support is the best way to handle that.
