As of August 28 2016, Blackbaud Internet Solutions (BBIS) clients using Blackbaud Secure Payments (BBSP) version 1.0 web pages will be upgraded to responsive web pages (BBSP version 2.0). BBSP 2.0 is responsive so that donors using mobile devices will get an optimized user experience and supports HTML5 and CSS3 coding.This change is required as part of improved Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance.Important Update for BBIS Clients Using Blackbaud Secure Payments


As of August 28 2016, Blackbaud Internet Solutions (BBIS) clients using Blackbaud Secure Payments (BBSP) version 1.0 web pages will be upgraded to responsive web pages (BBSP version 2.0). BBSP 2.0 is responsive so that donors using mobile devices will get an optimized user experience and supports HTML5 and CSS3 coding.This change is required as part of improved Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance.


IMPORTANT NOTE: This upgrade is cosmetic in nature and will have no impact on the ability to accept and process payments. In some cases, minor adjustments may be needed to correct any visual imperfections that may occur.

If you would like to make this change before August 28, here are the steps you will need to take. They will vary depending upon the version of BBIS you're currently operating on.

 

  • If you have already upgraded to version 4.0 SP6 or above OR plan to upgrade (in production) prior to Aug 28, you can test and upgrade to 2.0 through the product configuration.  [Instructions here]   
  • If you have already upgraded to version 4.0 SP6 and updated your BBSP templates to use responsive templates, no further action is needed.
  • If you are on an older version and an upgrade is not possible, your BBSP pages will be automatically upgraded to 2.0 on August 28th. We recommend you work with your TAM to preview your templates. These changes will need to be completed AFTER the automatic upgrade on August 28th.   
  •  Customers that used Blackbaud Professional Services to create their templates directly on the BBSP server (bypassing the BBIS upload) can have their templates upgraded to v2.0 at any time through Blackbaud Professional Services staff.  Please contact your CSM for more details.  
  • If you are not using Blackbaud Secure Payments for your payments pages, there will be no impact.
In order to lessen your PCI burden and keep up to date with industry security guidelines, it is always recommended that you use BB Secure Payment pages for payment processing.

What is happening? 

BBSP templates are being automatically updated due to improved Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance. 


How do I know if my site is affected by this change? 

Any site that accepts payments through a Blackbaud Secure Payments (BBSP) page is affected. Blackbaud Secure Payments is required if you are using the following parts: 
  • Advanced Donation Form  
  • Payment 2.0 
  • Transaction Manager (configured to update credit card on recurring gifts)                                         
I am already on BBIS 4.0 SP6. What do I need to do?   

Refer to the Documention to preview your existing templates on BBSP 2.0 and upgrade through the configuration options available within BBIS. 

 

What happens if I cannot upgrade to CRM 4.0 SP6 before August 28,2016? 
Your BBSP templates will automatically be upgraded on August 28, 2016. After August 28th , and your payment pages will be responsive. You can make changes to your new 2.0 templates through your normal BBIS configuration.
