Do Blackbaud CRM Features Use The Blackbaud Data Warehouse (BBDW)?

You have probably noticed that we are improving the Blackbaud Data Warehouse (BBDW), and making an effort to re-introduce the benefits of the BBDW to clients that haven't used it in the past.  We have received a lot of great feedback from clients that have taken a closer look at the BBDW, and one of the unanswered questions that emerged from this feedback was: "What features in BBCRM require the BBDW?"


Below is a list of the current features that either rely on the BBDW, or provide the option to replicate BBCRM (OLTP) data into the BBDW.  This blog post will be static, but the list will be added to the Blackbaud Data Warehouse Guide when 4.0 SP 14 is released (next month), and will continue to be updated there as needed.

The following features of Blackbaud CRM rely on data from the Blackbaud Data Warehouse:

  • Boolean or code table fields with the following record types:
    • Constituent

    • Educational History

    • Interaction
    • Modeling and Propensity
    • Registrant
    • Revenue

  • Revenue Mode
  • Recognition Mode

OLAP Cube
  • OLAP Explorer
  • OLAP Excel Reports
Query Views
  • Constituents (from the Blackbaud Data Warehouse)
    • Can be used in Selections
  • Revenue (from the Blackbaud Data Warehouse)
    • This is the only way to filter on Rolling Dates in Blackbaud CRM
  • Revenue Recognition Credits (from the Blackbaud Data Warehouse)
Reports
  • Membership Activity Report
  • Membership Actuals Report
Smart Fields (Optional)*
  • Boolean or value group fields with the following record types:
    • Constituent
    • Revenue Application
 
Source Codes (Optional)*


*Items marked as Optional will continue to work in Blackbaud CRM with the OLTP data, but provide the option to replicate that data into the Blackbaud Data Warehouse
