Centralized User Management Update

As you may remember from this previous post, we are introducing our new role-based security features with the release of Email in Rasier’s Edge NXT, which will lead to a complete, centralized workflow to manage all users across your Blackbaud solutions.  Over time, this will enable:
 

• A centralized User Management area.
• Easier application of user and security management for administrators.
• A more robust security system that saves you time.

 
During this transition, only users with Supervisor rights selected in the database view can access the user management area under Control Panel, Security in the web view.
 

Users with Selected group rights selected — even those with rights to Administration, Security in the database view through their security group – will not have access.
   
In the future, admins can enable those with selected group rights to access the new user management area. In the meantime, to grant access for these users, an admin in the user management area can make them admins on the Users tab.

Note: If you use other Blackbaud solutions in addition to Raiser’s Edge NXT, – don’t worry. The updates are coming to you too; we’re just working on some additional features to support more Blackbaud solutions.
