Here are the latest changes, updates, and new features for the Education management products for December 19, 2023.

Academics

Assignment creation enhancements

We've made the following enhancements to the assignment creation experience:
  • When adding an assignment from the calendar views of the Assignment Center and the Assignments tab on class pages, selecting Save and add another now opens a new assignment creation modal.
  • In the calendar views of the Assignment Center and Assignments tab on class pages, selecting a past or future date on the calendar now opens an assignment creation modal with the Assigned and Due dates defaulting to the selected date instead of today’s date.
  • In the calendar view of the Assignments tab on class pages, selecting a date on the calendar now opens an assignment creation modal with sections of the current course selected by default under Publishing options.

Enrollment management

A previous version of this notification referred to unreleased feature updates for Blackbaud Enrollment management. These changes are forthcoming and will be announced again upon their pending release.

Events

Admissions managers should now see the Event Detail counts correlate to the Event Attendees list counts. For example:
  • The Registration option Sign-ups column now links to the Attendees List and automatically filters by the respective Event Registration Option.
  • Registered only displays a count of attendees with the Registered status.
  • The Sign-ups column in the Event list now includes all (submitted) attendee records in any status.
Event counts now link to an auto-filtered Event Attendees list (where applicable).
  • Sign-ups link to the attendees list with no filters.
  • Registered now links to attendees list with "Registered" status filter selected automatically.
  • Attended will link to attendees list with "Attended" status filter selected automatically.
  • Canceled links to attendees list with "Canceled" status filter selected automatically.
  • Did not attend now links to attendees list with "Did not attend" status filter selected automatically.


Registration Option Begin Date and End Date filters and columns are now available on the Attendees list.



The Event Details page now has additional columns that can be enabled including Registration option, Registration available, Max Capacity, Sign-ups, and more.

Official Notes

A Student's Official Notes inbox count no longer includes comments which have candidate or incoming student access.

A previous version of this notification referred to unreleased feature updates for Blackbaud Enrollment management. These changes are forthcoming and will be announced again upon their pending release.


API and Integrations

Update education entries for a user

PATCH Users education update enables updating an existing education entry for a user based on the corresponding user_id and education_id included as path parameters. The education entry is customized by the properties provided in the request body, notably including school (required), degree, major, field, and grad_year. To control the positioning of the entry in the UI list, include the optional property sort_order.

Subscribe to “What’s New”

To receive email notifications when the What’s new update appears, make sure to subscribe to the K12 community’s blog by logging into the community site and selecting the Subscribe button.

To manage your community subscriptions:
  1. Log into the community and locate your name and profile picture in the upper right corner.
  2. Select the drop-down arrow and select My Account.
  3. From the My Account page, select the Subscriptions tab and scroll down to the Blogs section.
  4. Locate Blackbaud K-12 Education solutions Blog. If you want to be notified as soon as the What’s new content goes live on the community, select the Instant option. You can also opt for Daily and Weekly notifications.
  5. Scroll to the end of the page and select Save changes.
