The Month In Review: February 2020 Feature Releases

By now, you may have seen that Education management has changed how they deliver new content to you. Previously, we were tied to monthly releases, bringing you new content on a set date once a month. However, over the past few weeks, we’ve altered that strategy to bring you near continuously releases every week.


While we hope these updates are easier to digest overall, this change has also forced me to adjust these blogs slightly. While I can’t provide weekly blog posts on “What’s New” like our old monthly updates allowed, I’m going to instead bring you a recap at the end of each month.


So welcome to the first Month In Review, where we take a look back at some of the bigger features we’ve released over the past month. Enjoy!

Enrollment management

This month, lists were a big focus for the EMS squad. Specifically, we added a bunch of new filters to the Candidate and Contract lists. You can now filter on things like Entering classification, School program, Interests, Inquiry form name, and Sending school name. New columns are also available including CC email for Candidate list and Processed Date for the Contract list.


We also released new updates for candidate notifications and added safeguards to Committee Reviews.

Academics

This month, we buffed up the Edit student enrollment area of Academics, which is something we added to Requests and schedules inside of the January update. Throughout February, new enhancements were added to improve the user experience such as three new save options for the filters student list and a second column labeled Section # - Block Name that allows you to select a section and block for the requested course in each row.


To help users as they acclimate to this change, we’ve reinstated the older Manage enrollment option for a limited time. As always, we welcome your comments, feedback, and suggestions right here in the community.

Core

While not necessarily a dedicated “Core” update, the big news this month is that Education is now an option in the omnibar when you are logged into www.blackbaud.com, Smart Tuition, Raiser’s Edge NXT, or any other Blackbaud “NXT” solution with Blackbaud ID and have a manager role.


Selecting Education takes you to a new Home page where you can access useful content or select to go to the Education Management area. Essentially, this enables managers to navigate a complete a “loop” from their Education Management experience, into the Education area, and then back to the Education Management area if they so choose.

School website

In February, School website focused on analytics and site tracking capabilities. If you’re a school that uses third party web analytics, you can now add code snippets from Website Management, Site Settings, and SEO to track headers and the body separately. In addition, users who are creating or editing an Inquiry or Application form can now add tracking tags to the confirmation message.


Outside of analytics and tracking, we also made a number of updates to features like Athletic group rosters and team detail pages.
