Recommended Event Management Software

We need great event management software for a major fundraising gala that integrates well with RENXT. We are looking for features like mobile interface, live auction bidding, seating charts, etc - all of the bells and whistles.

We've used OneCause in the past and we're looking for a new option. What are your recommendations?

  • I have this same question. I hope you get some answers.

  • Onecause is a great event software platform! Great mobile interface for donors, easy to use silent auction system, live auction and fund a need, seating charts and registration check in. Very robust system, the only drawback I had with it is its interface with Blackbaud products. We had to send flat files back and forth for importing into our system or theirs.

AppsNxt has a nice seating chart integration, but I'm not sure if they have the other features you are looking for. It's on Marketplace as: Seating Chart & Check In for Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT

  • We have also used OneCause in the past, but transitioned this fall to Auctria for all of our events (golf, gala with silent & live auction, seminars etc). So far - we are finding the backend much easier to use. I'm excited about the possibility of using credit card readers, which wasn't an option with OneCause and was a pain point at guest check in. The website editor is a bit confusing, but manageable. Unfortunately no direct integration with NXT, but I haven't found any on the market that do.

We also demoed with Greater Giving, but found that their functionality was far less than OneCause or Auctria and their costs the highest of the three.

  • Take a look at Trellis (https://trellis.org/). I do not have direct experience with it but am keeping an eye on the product for a handful of RE users that we work with.

It actually does integrate with RE and you have control the fields that sync, which is nice. It might not have a seating chart but I believe it has all of the other features. If you could combine that with AppsNxt, it may be a good route!

Any additional insights on platforms you use?

We will be discontinueing NetC and BB hosted website so are looking for other options for event registrations/data collection/payment and hoping to find something that works fairly easy with RE.

  • Did you end up finding a software that you liked? and why are you moving away from OneCause?

  • Hi @Liz Wright! We've used Greater Giving since 2020. It is not integrated with NXT - we had to make that concession. However, I believe it's among the best.

We run at least three fundraisers per year, and sometimes a program summit. We use Greater Giving for our silent auctions, and once for live auction. It worked well for a live auction (even if our audience wasn't ready for it).

Post event, I do some pretty complex importing (we also use Omatic). This is cumbersome, but the comfort the whole staff has with Go Time (the check in tool) is so strong now. At the beginning, I leaned on another community member to share her expertise with my colleagues.

We do not use Greater Giving's tables and groups, but it sounds like that would cover your need for a seating chart.

My main gripe with Greater Giving for a few years has been their credit card swipers. Yes, swipers. I had a meeting with them at the end of 2025 and they are FINALLY upgrading to tap to pay.
