Giving up on the Idea Bank

Has anyone else decided to give up on putting ideas in the Idea Bank. It seemed like a great idea years ago when it started. But it just seems pointless anymore to put ideas in or vote for ideas. I do know that one idea I either suggested or voted for is supposed to be released this fall. But it was suggested 10 years ago. Then the other day when I contacted support about something and they said it couldn't be done and suggested the Idea Bank, I went there and discovered that it had been suggested 7 years ago. By the time something comes through from the idea bank, in all likelihood, the people who suggested it or voted for it will have moved on or retired. The only reason I'm still here to see the idea from 10 years ago is because I ended up working with another organization that uses etap. Comments? I'm I just too impatient?

  • Full agree with you, it's such a shame, and I'd love these ideas and votes to influence product updates as much as the staff at Blackbaud say they will!

  • Hi Suzie, Yes it's a real shame. We work closely with Charity Database Consultants in the UK providing consulting support to organisations using eTapestry - we assist organisations in Australia and New Zealand. eTapestry has such a great underlying set of functionality and some of the idea bank submissions would keep the product progressing so much more.
