Loss of Ability to View Reports Results without Downloading

Prior to the most recent update, I was able to view a general ledger report without downloading it. Typically, I only need to view a report not download it. I don't understand why that functionality has been removed. A fifth option under the "Generate Reports" button should be added to "send to screen" or "view only". Otherwise, Blackbaud has added unnecessary steps to the reporting process.

I share the same sentiment. Generating reports takes longer that just doing the "Preview".

I whole heartly agree. Most of my work is analytical and I usually need a quick look at the reports. Downloading is much slower, and puts unnecessary data onto my computer. Also, I would much appreciate it if you would bring back the option of printing the criteria page on the face page instead of a separate piece of paper.

Totally agree. Most of the reports I run do not need to be printed or saved - I just need to see it. In database view, report previews would just pop onto the screen, where I could choose to save it or usually, dismiss it. Now I have to wait for them to generate and then download them. Extra steps and extra time spent.

Totally agree-If we have to generate , it would be nice to be able to download all at once from the alert section. Not one at a time.

By the way, I answered this from the FE side - we are feeling the pain of having to download reports there too.

Agreed. Having the same issue in FE NXT…please add an option to view on screen under the Generate tab because sometimes I need to just view something not fully download the report.

Agree! I often view a report, change an account number or date and generate (on screen) again. This is a routine task that I use many times every day. Now have to wait for the report to generate, have to close the parameters screen to access the notification bell to download the report, then find and open the report again and change parameters.

Also, I can't see if a report is generating or not. They take longer to generate than previously. At month end, I generate many reports, and with the new process, I'm waiting much longer, have to download and then open each individually. It takes MUCH more time and frustration than previous process.

I totally agree! After requesting to generate a report, I have to stare at the screen to make sure that I don't miss it when the message comes up to download the report. If the message disappears without my requesting the download, I have to re-run the report.
