Question for Online Giving in NXT

We will soon be switching to the NXT online giving forms. A scenario that exists for us currently in OLX is that we have the ability to run certain registration fees through OLX but not physically commit them into a constituent's record. It's basically the hub for the charge process to happen. Is the new online process through NXT able to do that as well without having to physically connect to a hard record? Appreciate any feedback!

    Hi Denise,

I believe that gifts made via an online giving form results in the creation of a constituent record if one does not exist.

This has been an issue for us, because it creates duplicate records in many cases if the spouse is the one who makes the gift, so we have used these forms sparingly.

We now can review the information before committing the batch, but it still requires manual review.

Unfortunately, any registration processed through NXT event forms will result in a gift record on the constituent's record. In all honesty, this is a best practice. Instead of excluding this information, I recommend developing gift coding to support the suppression of these gifts from reporting if they need to be excluded - i.e. coding them to a specific Fund.

That being said, not every situation can be solved with a 'best practice' or significant process change - and you should always do what's best for organization. Recommend visiting the RE NXT Idea Bank and ensuring that this topic exists if this is the case for your org.
