Looking for insights on BBCRM–Epic integration and migration to Blackbaud Azure

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out to see if anyone has experience integrating Blackbaud CRM (BBCRM) with Epic and subsequently migrating their CRM to Blackbaud’s Azure hosting environment.

Our team is currently evaluating this transition, and I would greatly appreciate hearing from organizations that have already gone through the process — particularly around integration continuity, middleware considerations, PHI/security protocols, testing, and any lessons learned during the move to Azure.

If you’re open to it, I’d also welcome the opportunity to speak directly with someone who has managed or overseen a similar migration. A brief conversation would be tremendously helpful in understanding real-world challenges and best practices.

Thank you in advance for any insights, tips, or experiences you’re willing to share.

  • Hi Mark,

We are hosted by Blackbaud on Azure and have a built Epic integration. I may be able to offer some value and insight into integration considerations and challenges we face with not being self-hosted. Happy to talk if you want to reach out.

  • We are self-hosted and have had a Grateful Patient feed from Epic since 2016. Happy to discuss concerns around security/functionality within BBCRM. I'm sorry I can't help with the Azure piece though.
