Are you merging only in web/unified view? (and not Database view too)

I saw again in today's update that Blackbaud mentions only needing to merge in web view. Every time I test this, I have issues with the attachments though. Specifically, I don't see them always merge in web view. Just wondering if it is working great for others and I should keep testing or wait.

I only merge in the workhorse RE DATABASE VIEW. Do very little in the sub-par RE NXT, which has been a mess as far as I am concerned and I know other Database Managers feel the same way. A very poor product.

For the most part, merging in web view has been working for us. Once in a while, there will be instances where web view objects to merging event participations (there can be only one per event it seems) or Gift Aid - in these cases, we merge everything else in web view and the pop over to database view to merge these bits.

There was an error in the language of the update which has now been corrected. I would do a lot of testing to be sure.

Just adding that you will likely have issues with attachments as they are one area that does not continually sync between views. If you are seeing some, but not all attachments merging, it may be that some attachments you are seeing in webview have been part of a one-time upload from the media tab in database view and may not merge. Those that do merge were likely added in webview and therefore can be merged. I can't say this for sure, but just a thought.

Thanks all this was helpful! I was adding an attachment to test record and then immediately merging it. The timeline of adding and merging might be the problem. Good to know there may be some event issues as well. I'm thinking we may start doing merging only in web view for lower risk constituents (with basic bio/appeal/gift data) and continue merging VIPs with complicated records in both systems.

To @Dan Snyder's point - here's a KB Article that covers the sync details between DBV and WV. DBV Attachments/Media can take up to 60 mins to sync with WV.
