Graduate Distinctions on Transcripts/Report Cards

Hello Community,

I am hoping someone has found a solution for this use case. We are exploring trying to add a graduate distinction to our report cards/transcripts. Has anyone found a way to add this type of field onto either of those areas? Think something like "Summa Cum Laude" or the like that is done in college graduations. Thanks!

We use the Awards tool to add many similar notations to transcripts. We put them in a narrow column on the right as shown below.

Create the award in Academics > Grades > Grading setup > Awards.

Connect a student to the award in Academics > Grades > Grades management > Manage awards. You can also assign awards to multiple students with a data import (Core > System tools > Data import, category Student and Import type Awards).

Another option that I forgot to mention is to create an Admin viewable custom field, and add text to that field. The custom field can be added to the transcript. We use this for longer narrative text about an unusual circumstance, but it would work for what you're working on, too.

For what you're doing, I would go with the Award for standardize text (such as an award name).

Core > Settings > General settings > Custom fields - Admin view only

You can also create an official note called Transcript Note. It created to not get sent to anyone. If you check the box Print on transcript, and choose "Student Notes" on the Design form of the transcript, if there is an official note for the student, it will appear. If not, it won't show anything. We have also used this for changes to the grading scale that may have affected some transcripts.
