Billing Management Discounts/Credits

In working in Billing Management, our schools would greatly benefit by having the ability to setup predefined discounts/credits in the system the same way that tuition/charges are setup.

Currently we create credits using miscellaneous fees with predefined amounts. That seems to work, but it is a little unclear.

@Petra Hall, could you explain a little more about how this allows you to create predefined credits? Are you saying that you are using 'negative' fees in order to create credits? I just tried using a negative number for a miscellaneous fee, and it won't even accept the number.

Weirdly enough, we create the item as a miscellaneous fee, then create a credit using it.

Here's the setup (note the positive amount):

The term miscellaneous "fee" is not as helpful as it could be.

That makes it look like it will charge $686 instead of credit $686. I'll have to investigate that more.

Very interesting. Are you able to add these credits to the enrollment contract? Mine seem to show up only as charges.

We enter our 'credits' as Financial Aid - employee remission, sibling discounts, etc.
