Pledge Status Report Issue

Hi - When I pull the Month-End Pledge Status Report, I notice that it is showing pledge payments in the current month against a outstanding balance of a pledge that is less than the payment and it still shows the entire payment, but not the overpayment of the pledge. So that the pledge payments do not match the decrease in overall pledge balance. Is this correct or is there a setting that needs changed.
