FYI: Late submission icon appearing incorrectly for assignments submitted before due date/time

Blackbaud support confirmed today that the Late submission icon is appearing incorrectly in the new grading interface for some students who did submit their assignments before the assignment due date/time. Per the support case notes, the issue is occurring due to a product issue that will need to be addressed by their engineering team, and they will be working to test and isolate the root cause, so that a fix can be implemented. 

This is especially important to know about if your school applies point deductions for late assignments; teachers may see the "L" icon and assume an assignment was turned in late when it was actually submitted on time. 

Incorrect point deductions could lead to incorrect grades which affect GPAs and ranking, which in turn can affect eligibility for awards and scholarships. We have notified our teachers and recommended that they double-check the submission timestamp for any assignments marked "L".
