Sorting of Custom Fields

Hi

A user has asked if Custom Fields can be sorted newest to oldest, as currently the newest added get buried at the bottom of the list.. This could be done in database view, but in NXT it's just A-Z or vice versa.

Can anyone suggest a way to do this, as users are beginning to suggest renaming their custom fields AAAAAAA to get top the top of the list, which just makes me cry. 😭

@Luisa Rampin A couple questions, when you say renaming "their" custom fields. Are there specific custom fields for each user ex. DanCustomfield or LuisaCustomfield? If so, I wonder if using the built in category filter might help at least narrow it down to just those custom fields? It still would not sort newest to oldest but here is an idea about sorting custom fields. There may be a few more you can find by searching sort custom fields but this seemed close to what you are looking for.

Hi Dan, thanks for this idea, but this issue relates to three or four legacy related fields that the whole fundraising department uses. Thanks for adding that link, hopefully Blackbaud will appreciate who important this idea is before turning off DV.
