Limiting Academic Official Note Types Available to Faculty for Entry

We use official notes for our faculty to enter notes for "Grade Alerts" & "Course Planning".

I'd like to add a note type for an admin to use but not be available for a general faculty member in the dropdown when they click "Add Official Note".

Example: an Official note type of "Needs Status" where I can import a group of students FA needs status notes so that I can limit view access to Advisers, Faculty, & Coaches. I don't want "Needs Status" to be available for someone to manually create said note but I need the note type active so the note can be seen after it is imported in.

Is this possible?

    Hi Jamie,

    I think that importing these notes is definitely the way to go to avoid automatic notifications. In the setup you can control who can be notified/see the note, or who MUST be included on that note type. You can set it up to require approval, so if someone were to accidentally choose this type, it wouldn't automatically go out.
