Unable to add assignments for my classes

Hello, if my question is in the wrong place I apologize in advance. I am tasked with figuring out Blackbaud for my K-12 school this summer before we roll it out in the fall. I have the role of both admin and a teacher. I've been playing around with creating a course, and then creating classes for that course. So when I go to Faculty/My Day/Assignment Center, I get the message "There are no active sections to add assignments to." I did create sections (classes) in which I am the teacher. How do I get the sections to display here and start adding assignments?

    Hi Daniel -

This is typically because the class is not yet in session. There are a couple of things that could potentially be causing this, so I'll list out a few of them. If you find yourself still having trouble, I would encourage you to reach out to our support team and they can assist in pinpointing where the specific problem may reside.

    1. Check to ensure that there are active terms in Core > Settings > School year setup. Often times, if the class isn't displaying in the class dropdown, it's because the term ended or hasn't yet begun.
    2. Check to ensure the course has been offered, and a course section has been created. Double-check to ensure the given course was offered in an active term as well.
    3. Look at the gradebook marking periods and ensure the given course would fall within the dates for one of the marking periods. This will affect when your assignments can be created as you cannot create (Assigned date / Due date) assignments outside of an active marking period.

Hopefully this gives you a few things to check out!
