Raiser's Edge Solicit Code cleanup (Any RE Table)

Hi Community!

I am tasked with Solicit Code cleanup. There are clearly some Solicit Codes we no longer need and we can just delete. There is a Plug-In called "Delete Table Entry" that is perfect, but it requires all users to be logged off to use and it includes system accounts, not just end users. The alternative is to find all the use cases in the database and deleting those solicit codes on the records and then you can delete the RE Table entry. The Plug-In is much more efficient. Has anyone figured out how to use this relative to getting all users off the system including system accounts?

I admit I have done some clean-up processes without everyone being logged off. The only issue I've encountered is a record as an exception as it was open by someone. I generally try to do that type of work right at the end of the day.

I think there is an option between the two you cited. Create a query of records with that const code and use global change. Constituent >Constituent Codes > Code. I used this for a lot of my constit code clean up.

  • Yeah I think the all users being logged off is relative to the Plug-In requirement. There are some great Plug-In tools out there!

Yes, a Global Update (Delete) was a knowledgebase suggestion and your right that might be the next best thing as I forgot you can apply that to all records or just the scope of records you are looking at. I will look in to that more.

    Thank you!!

  • Agree Carlene! That is what we have done with emails and phones (moving to a "Delete (Staging)" email/phone Type that needed to be deleted and then using the Phone Delete Plug-In.

The Plug-In in theory would work best and easily, but system accounts being logged in complicates.

Thank you for the reply/direction. I am looking at the Global update process which I have used, but not to delete anything.

I'm so glad I looked at this discussion thread. I had no idea about the Phone Delete Plug-In until I read your comments. You have saved me SO much time in my own data cleanup for similar issues. Thank you, @Damon Rosenthal, @Carlene Johnson, and @JoAnn Strommen, for your insights! I learned something new today. :)

@Damon Rosenthal are you on RE NXT, if so, the Table Cleanup is now part of webview functionality, which does not require all user to be off the system.

If you are not on RE NXT, and working using database plugin, then yes, all user need to be off, question though is, what system user are you talking about that cannot be "logged off"

  • Hi Alex - It said something about Blackbaud Hosted. We also have an integration account though. I was looking a the Table Cleanup function, but it did not seem to do what I was looking for, but I will look into it further.

Yes, Sara - the Phone Delete Plug-In is great!! It really helped with us with cleaning up emails especially duplicate emails. I just created a "Delete Staging" email or phone type that I would update to for those I wanted to delete and then use the tool to remove that scope. I always kept track of the count as I updated to match to what the tool indicated before continuing with the delete. Happy cleanup!!

this is what is on RE NXT webview, which does the same thing as database view table clean up. not sure what other table cleanup feature you are trying to use.
