Hide Pay Securely on event registration pages

Hi

Does anyone know if there is a way to only have 'Pay later' option for paid event registration forms in NXT? We have a paid event, but payment needs to be handled after registration is confirmed via a separate process.

Thanks

Hi Kerry, I don't think this is possible if your Event ticket has a cost associated with it. You can set up a "free" event with $0 tickets that doesn't require payment or you could explore the new Constituent Forms that don't require a payment. You can find those in Online Giving > Constituent Forms. Hope this helps!

Hi @Kerry Shippam, We do what @Lacey Kruger suggest with setting up the free event ticket. We use a different form for payments because we do not want event fees to appear on the gift record. Would love it if they showed up just on the events. I set up a separate donation form for the fees and they get a link to it with their confirmation email. It has worked for us for years. Last year I built a Power Automate flow to add participant options for the amount due and amount paid. Since you can't track it in the normal area without a "gift" Good luck!

  • Thanks @Lacey Kruger and @Elizabeth Johnson I've done what you suggested and setup as a free event, looks like it will work for what we need. Power Automate Flow idea sounds interesting.

Hi Kerry! Adding a bit more to Lacey's reply:
The $0 free event approach is your best bet here to capture registrations without processing any payments or creating pledge payments you need to manage later. Registrants will be able to select fees and will only see a "Register" button. Depending on your process, staff can manually update the fee and payment on each participant record in the back office.
One heads up on Constituent Forms: those are for collecting/updating constituent contact info, not event registrations. They won't create participant records tied to your event, so you'd lose all your event tracking if you go that route.
If a native "pay later" option is something your org needs regularly, definitely submit or upvote it in the RENXT Idea Bank!

So glad that is working out for you @Kerry Shippam.

Here is an idea to allow orgs to not include event fees as gifts.

Here are some screenshots from my flow that uses an adaptive card. Similar to a default set to add key information and I get an email as well when someone runs it so I can see if anything needs to be followed up on. Also helps with data consistency.

  • We have just noticed that once you select quantity and click next, it displays the tickets as Free, I can't see any label options to change this value. Anyone noticed this or found workaround?

This is how we set ours up. We don't like how the guests are handled by the form when you go through the proper channels so we have those shared as participant options. Hope these screenshots are enough to help out. I'll dm you the link to our form so you can look without submitting.
