We are transitioning from Ellucian Advance to Blackbaud CRM, and one of the major hurdles for our gift processors during training has been learning the different terms being used to describe the same things. If you previously used Ellucian Advance and had the same issue, are there any resources you could share? If there's a basic glossary we could customize without reinventing the wheel, I think that could really help build their confidence in the new system.

    Hey Kathryn,

    I think a good option would be to follow the API End point documentation. Sometimes, there are fields that are related with the information you are looking for. I have been working with BB products the last 7 months and this was help me a lot.

    For example if you schrool down where you see json information you get all data fields explained, there are not perfect, but at least you get something reliable.

    Thanks, Giovanni! I have added this link to our resource document. I think my team would benefit the most from something even more basic. Things like Advance Entity = BBCRM Constituent, Revenue Credit = Hard Credit, Recognition Credit = Soft Credit, etc.

    Hi Kathryn,

    We had a translation document for some modules, primarily around revenue and reports. We found it helpful to have a column of what was listed in RE, followed by the CRM equivalent. For revenue, there were two columns- one for transaction type and one for application type. Do you have a copy of mapping documents for conversion? That would be where I would start! Then you can pull out what you think would be most helpful for your colleagues and what would be most referenced (revenue especially!)
