Logging into Blackbaud - confirmation code
I was wondering if this is just me or if anyone/everyone experiences it. When I log in to my Blackbaud account with my username and password, despite clicking the "Trust this browser" box, every single time I log in I have to give a confirmation code.
I just wondered if anybody else is afflicted by this lack of trust 😁
As far as I am aware I have cookies on etc, etc.

yes it's the same for me, it doesn't bother me.

No, not every time. You should contact support.

You are not the only one. I've contacted support at one point and another user had spoken to a BB employee at, I believe, last year's BBCon. If the system is checking for your IP6, then it will end up asking for the MFA code sometimes several times a day. If it is looking at IP4, then the button to "trust this browser" works as expected. It depends on your ISP and whether you are using a VPN as to which IP is presented to RE. Contacting support won't provide much relief except possibly getting from them a log record that will show that your IP was changing (that's how I discovered that the system was going by IP6 and not IP4). And as reported by the other user, as far as BB is concerned, everything is working as designed and there are no plans to change anything.

thanks @Tatyana Leifman for the detail…
I am pretty sure that I have a static IP address but it could be presenting IP6.
In the grander scheme of things it is not a major issue but just an annoyance.

It is an definitely an annoyance but one I've gotten used to 😊. Now if things that are migrated to web view could be complete and I won't have to switch back and forth between dbv and wv to complete simple tasks, ending up working in dbv and letting wv time out and log me out requiring to log back in….

I am also used to it. It is also not too hard if you have a good password manager which populates it for you but it just seems a design flaw.

The only time I am asked for confirmation code is when I switch from working in the office to working at home or home to the office.

In my experience, it sticks for about 24 hours if you're using the same browser and wifi. If you change either of those things, you will be asked again for a MFA code. As a consultant, I cannot tell you how often I'm looking at my phone to grab a MFA code as I'm working in multiple client systems. It's annoying, but I've gotten used to it.

Yes, I am regularly logging in as different users or different browser so that might also explain it.

I log in only as myself and have to enter the MFA code every time. Like others stated, it's annoying, but I'm used to it at this point.

Don't shoot me down for circumventing the security features of a time-out, but…
You could always run a tab reloader extension on a separate tab. 😉

I've noticed that if you work from home and then back in the office, you will be asked for a code. If you login on with the same network, it keeps that "trust this browser" info saved. Switching back and form seems to trigger that prompt.

For me it is daily… but I am okay with that so I haven't taken any action to change it.

Happens very consistently. Annoying but I can't seem to find a way to eliminate it. Some of our team members routinely get the additional code request while others seem to be blessed with an easy login.

This happens to me but it varies. When I'm remote it asks every time I sign in even though I click the trust this browser button. When I'm at the office I either only have to do it once a day or not at all.
I find that my coworkers find it more frustrating than I do as they are not in the database all day everyday. They may login in the morning then return 3 hours later and have to repeat the MFA. Especially when they just need to quickly look up one thing about a constituent and they have to redo MFA just to check the spelling of a name or confirm a phone number etc.
