I am interested in hearing from anyone whose organization has undertaken a holistic effort to overhaul and optimize constituent communication preferences and consent management - in a manner generally similar to what is reflected in this Blackbaud article:
Beyond Solicit Codes: Building a Modern Communication Preference Strategy with Consent — Blackbaud Community
In my experience working with many organizations, this tends to be limited to a cleanup of a list of solicit codes. That is, of course, an important component, but I'm interested in hearing if you've been involved in something more comprehensive. I've got a scenario in which the growth over time to many hundreds of solicit codes, some opt-out, some opt-in, has created not only complexity and confusion, but even contradictory data at the level of individual constituents. I see this as an opportunity for a reset with a goal of both streamlining things internally while also truly and accurately capturing, tracking, and respecting constituents' "actual" preferences.
Has anyone undertaken such an effort?
