Fund Records in WV/NXT

So, the new view of fund records in WV/NXT has some of the features that are available in the dbv fund record but it also includes a major flaw that still makes the overview and gifts tabs beyond useless for those of us who use split gifts.

In dbv, if I go to view—>gifts, I can specify date range, campaign, gift type and then I get a neat window that lists all the gifts that fit my filters and the total amount and total number of gifts at the bottom. If a donor made a split gift, only the relevant fund's portion is shown in the Amount column and added into the total (yes, all the funds in the split are shown in the fund column but that actually does have it's uses as it neatly flags split gifts).

In NXT/WV, if I go to the Gifts tab of a fund record, I now can filter by gift date, gift type and campaign. Which is great. THANK YOU!

However, gifts that are split among several funds are presented in full. That is, the entire gift amount is listed. NOT the Fund split amount. And that entire amount is added into the Total at the top of the screen.

Why oh why?????

I have a fundraiser who is trying to be self-sufficient but cannot use the fund record to check on a fund's performance because though he may not know exactly where the errors are coming in, he has a relative idea of how much should be shown as raised for the fund and he can see the numbers are way off.

Thank you for taking the time to document this so clearly. The scenario you described is one we've heard from a number of organizations that rely on split gifts for fund management and reporting.

I'm happy to share that support for split allocation amounts is currently planned work on our roadmap. The enhancement is intended to expose allocation-level values (such as Fund, Campaign, and Appeal split amounts) so users can analyze giving activity more accurately and better reconcile totals when gifts are distributed across multiple allocations.

We agree that when evaluating fund performance, users should be able to understand the amount attributed to the specific fund rather than seeing only the full gift amount. This is especially important when fundraisers and analysts are trying to work independently within web view experiences.

I am working on upgrading "gift reporting" in Q4 and I can add this to my list of things to research. We want to improve the giving history tile on a constituent and give flexibility to you all to define how you want the data to show. This seems very related and I can include it in my scope when we are starting to define the work. I may reach out if I have any questions if that is OK.

I don't know if the following issue with the Fund record is a bug or is also related to the overall reporting. Specifically, if we click on a bar for a specific month on the overview tab, we are taken to the "gifts" tab of the fund record. The filters then show the month we selected. There is also a list of donors and their gifts. However, this list is not confined to the month we selected and seemingly indicated by the filter but rather includes every donor ever to the fund. Similarly, the total revenue and number of gifts provides the entire total since the fund's inception. Manually adjusting the filters to the month we want provides the desired information (with the split gift caveat). Yes, once we realized the issue, it's not that difficult to manually adjust the filters on the gifts tab but that is not something intuitively clear to a user since the filter on the tab clearly shows the chosen month. The bar graph on the overview tab is good (and it actually properly adds up split gifts) but sometimes a user may want to know what specifically makes up the total indicated on the bar graph and since the bar graph is clickable, it's natural to click on it and expect the details (as happened in the previous iteration of the fund record).
