On August 4, we released an enhancement to Intelligent Tags, including an expanded standard tag catalog based on your recommendations and Custom Tags (for Raiser's Edge NXT® Complete). In the blog post Intelligent Tags, Part 2: More Signals, Custom Tags, and Smarter Engagement we briefly covered Prospect Insights tags, available to all customers. We think this new feature deserves its own spotlight.
What Do Prospect Insights Tags Do?
If your account has activated Prospect Insights, you already have AI-driven prioritization working behind the scenes for you. What Prospect Insights tags do is surface that analysis as an Intelligent Tag. These tags dramatically increase visibility of prospect signals: they appear on the Constituent record, in Lists, and in Work Center.
Three valuable Intelligent Tags come standard with Prospect Insights:
- Undergiving prospect flags donors giving below their predicted capacity. This is a cue to review the gap and consider whether an upgraded ask makes sense now.
- Untapped prospect flags high-priority prospects. Review their portfolio assignment and start outreach to act on this opportunity.
- Qualified prospect flags prospects Prospect Insights considers ready for assignment and cultivation. Time to assign a fundraiser and start planning.
Going Further with Prospect Insights Pro
Customers with Prospect Insights Pro have five tags for a fuller view of the prospect pipeline.
- Undergiving prospect and Qualified prospect carry over from the standard tag set.
- Top prospect indicates your highest-priority candidates for solicitation. These may merit a high-touch cultivation plan.
- Secondary prospect signals a strong candidate for ongoing relationship-building, on their way toward a future ask.
- Emerging prospect flags early-stage candidates worth light engagement now as they keep growing toward major-gift readiness.
These five tags span the full arc of prospect development, from someone just showing up on your radar to someone ready for the ask, and they’re generated automatically, every day.
Why This Matters Beyond the Tag Itself
Prospect Insights has always been powerful, but that power lived inside its own screens and queues. Turning those signals into Intelligent Tags means they surface in more places—on the Constituent record, in Lists, Work Center, and wherever else tags show up in Raiser's Edge NXT.
This shift also gives all customers the ability to segment on Prospect Insights data. Because Intelligent Tags can be used as list criteria, you can now build lists filtered on Undergiving prospect, Untapped prospect, and Qualified prospect. This Prospect Insights segmentation was a top-requested feature.
It's also the foundation for where we're headed next: using these same signals to trigger engagement workflows and expand segmentation further across Prospect Insights and Prospect Insights Pro. We've heard clearly that you want to do more with prioritization data than just look at it — you want to act on it, automatically. This release is the first step toward that.
How to Get Started
If you use Prospect Insights you have options to adjust your Intelligent Tags settings. By default Prospect Insights tags will be “on”. You can choose which users can see them, change the messaging for these tags to the user, and turn them on/off. And note: You won’t see these tags if you don’t have Prospect Insights activated in your account. Here’s how to get started with Prospect Insights.
These tags are meant to save you a step: less digging for who needs attention, more time actually reaching out to them.
