Volunteer Data

Does anyone know what the plan is for Volunteer data? Currently, this data can only be added / edited / viewed in database view. When we started using RE NXT in 2025, the Volunteer module was on a roadmap to come into web view in 2026. However, more recently it was said that Blackbaud is starting to research what to do with this module. We do enter quite a bit of data in the Volunteer module, and it is the only thing our day to day users have to use database view for. (Our Admin users have to use database view a lot more!) Looking ahead to next year and the sunset of database view, is this something we need to find a different solution for, or build ourselves using APIs? Or is the plan still to move the Volunteer fields and data from database view to web view?

@Jennie Henderson and @Suzie Capps - I see there is now an InsideTrack session in December that includes "You’ll also get an introduction to the new volunteer management page, where you can easily track volunteer types, statuses, emergency contacts, job assignments, timesheets, and more—all connected directly to each constituent’s record." That sounds promising and will hopefully answer our questions!

We also use the Volunteer tab to record guest speakers, interviews with our Comms team etc. The data in this tab forms an important part of our engagement metrics. We would also like to know BB's plans for this module.

We need to know the answers to this too! I believe it's currently on the roadmap for 2027, which is when database view is going to be 'turned off' - we need to be able to plan how to manage all our volunteers!

Thanks for asking the question, and also for the info on the InsideTrack session. We also use the volunteer module quite a bit and are hoping that it will transition to webview sooner rather than later.
