CRA Compliance and the Gift Batch changes greying out Receipt Amount

The change made to grey-out/lock information in gift batches from 3rd party that went into play this week is not acceptable. Specific problems: Receipt Amount & Receipt Number

This is a huge problem from Canadian entities, and third-party giving platforms. Any optional fees paid by the donor are being locked and coming through as part of the gift amount and the receipt. Which makes the receipt wrong/illegal. Rather than being able to edit this in the gift batch, we need to manually change each and every random entry in the gift after the batch?!

The only change that went out this week was to show the receipt number if it was present for the real time receipting. The receipt amount field was not affected by this update. Can I ask what the receipt status is for these gifts?

Good day @Anthony Gallo. Thank you for answering me, even when I was writing in a snippy way. Firstly, apologies. I also feel I expressed my problem backwards above in regards to receipts. I think our receipts are correct on issue but for audit/Canadian Revenue Agency reasons, the number going into RE is the problem for financials.

Details:
This information is coming from a third party platform called Just Giving, but processed through BB Merchant Services. They are receipted by Just Giving. The two problems with the grey out of these columns are:
1) Receipt Number is blank, and us not being able to add it is frustrating
2) Example = A person donated $20, gave $1 extra as an optional fee (I cannot turn this off in Just Giving by the way, I checked), and so Merchant Services and NXT now say Gift Amount = $21, so receipt = $21.

Writing a workflow, etc… for this won't work as a solution because it is option and arbitrary.

No worries at all. There is a lot going on and I completely get not being roses all the time. It doesn't mean you don't still get an answer.

The receipt number currently is only generated in web view thru our receipting process. This (before the real time receipting update) only happens once the gift is approved. Since we have the real time receipting function out, we can now have a gift receipted, before it is a real gift.

All this said, this is just the first step in our communications overhaul where we are bringing the Mail module workflow from database view into web view. We are working to get the workflow where you are used to it and eventually replace the current form of receipting.

The receipt amount should be editable, as should the status. The only thing you cannot do anything with is that number, but that is coming.

All of this is understandable.

However, the person on my team that brought this to my attention showed me the greyed out receipt amount section though. So that definitely was true. (She has approved the batch and made all the fixes to the gifts themselves in database view as a work around this morning, or I would provide screen shots.)

If you see that happen again we would need more details about that gift to be able to know what is going on there. In some scenarios, some fields are disabled based on the state of the gift. For instance, you can't edit the gift amount on an online transaction or automated recurring gift payment. So we either did this on purpose and I would love to give you that reason or it is a bug we can look more into.
