Pulling a gift summary to get cumulative giving totals, but some donors shouldn't be in the report

I'm running an impact report and pulling a gift summary to get cumulative giving totals. My criteria is 7/1/25–6/30/26, and I want anyone who has given a cumulative total of $1,000 or more within that date range.

However, I'm getting results that include donors who gave within the date range, but whose overall cumulative total (across all time) meets the $1,000 threshold — even though they didn't give $1,000 or more within the specified date range. What am I doing wrong?

Try including the date criteria in the Output summary, as well as the Criteria.

@Julie Michaelson If you can share screenshot of your criteria, it would help figure out the issue. It should be pretty straight forward. Summary total amount of gifts filter of date applied within that criteria. You may need to specifiy gift types. Did you apply date range within the total amount? Or was it a separate criteria?

IMO, the output fields should not be the issue.

Try putting a ( before first criteria total amount and a ) on second criteria constit code. That shouldn't be the issue but stranger things have happened. I had just logged out of RE. Will check back Monday if no one else has answered in the meantime.

You will want to dive into the specific donor record that you think shouldn't be in the query and look at the gift history. Your query is saying to process gift toward both direct credit (gift "lives" on the constituent record) and soft credit by grid amount. So first thing you want to make sure is, if the donor you think shouldn't be in the report was soft credited gift during that date period that you didn't spot.

I found the problem: the date range was off, so donors are now being excluded. Hooray! Now I'd like to confirm I'm running this the right way.
