NXT Recurring Batches

Hi,

Does anyone know if there’s a way in NXT Web View to create a recurring batch template, similar to Database view to commit monthly manual recurring gifts for a set list of constituents? (This is for payments not processed via credit card.) Thanks

Not currently. I don't believe there is a solid plan to copy the way it's done in db view. Seems like info I've heard/read is saying this will be done through an import into a batch.

Not sure it's possible in web view regardless of how many of us would like to see it.

With the Sept 2027 deadline coming up, I'm kinda worried about losing Database View. We still rely so much on DB batches and exports since Web View can't do them yet.

Both of these are a concern for us, as well. We do recurring batches for employee payroll batches, and not having that functionality is going to be a problem.

And as much as they say Query is replacing Export, it's just not there yet.

PLEASE do not equate "today" with "11 months from now". My life looked very different 11 months ago. RENXT looked very different 11 months ago. Blackbaud has been releasing webview functionality quite rapidly.

Exports are coming by the end of they year and I think they have the potential to be better than they currently are in database view. The learning curve should not be steep.

Even though I do not always like the way Blackbaud rolls out changes, it DOES challenge me to revaluate processes and see if there is a better way. I KNOW people are busy and that's an easy excuse to hide behind. But if you need to find the time, you will.

Query is not "replacing" export. It is just a single place to do both. And Blackbaud has been delayed, yet clear, about when this functionality is coming. It is currently planned for the end of 2026.

Good news! Someone submitted this to the idea bank - and on September 16th, it was moved from "voting" to "planned" by Blackbaud, which means it is now on their list of items to be added to NXT.

So no, it doesn't exist yet, but we now have assurances it will. As far as when, I don't know. But I was also very concerned about losing this feature as my org's gift processor, and I am relieved it was voted high enough to get Blackbaud's attention.

The Idea Bank is our biggest tool for advocacy with transition. I definitely recommend going to review the items there and voting on anything that looks important.

I was able to create individual recurring gifts in NXT, it just took exponentially longer than in database view. The I used the template we have set up for checks to enter the recurring gifts payments as a batch. I was able to apply my entries to the recurring gifts I entered, however, the Campaign, Fund and Appeal did not show in my batch and it cost me time in trying to enter that information repeatedly. I believe the data is there, it's just not visible for some reason. When I finished my entries, I used Update column value to fix the gift date and post date.

It was…less than ideal, but it worked.
