Membership cards

We are in the process of migrating to ALTRU from Gateway POS and was wondering what everyone uses for membership cards.

We currently use a PVC stock type card which is durable and members seem to enjoy.  Does anyone use PVC type cards with ALTRU and if so was the implementation pretty straight forward or was it difficult?

I have talked to a few others that use the card punch out stock that comes through a standard laser printer and know that that is an option but wanted to know what other institutions may use and how well it works.

Thank you for any responses!

  • Hi Greg,

PVC cards are really easy in Altru! If you are printing each card individually, you can create a template in Word and upload to Altru. When you are ready to run the card print process, you can select the "Print Cards" option and it will merge all the data onto your template. Click print and you are done. If you have multiple cards affixed to letterhead with different names on each card, you will want to select the "Download Output" option and merge outside of Altru.

I did have problems getting the cards printed in the correct order if i used a query selection to determine which cards to print. I recommend setting up the process to print all issued cards. If you need to, you can set up a different process for each level.

    Hope that helps!
