Updating Multiple Constituent Records
Laura Salfen
Hello all! I'm new to RE and had a question about updating constituent records. What is the best (and most efficient) way to update a large group of records? Is this something batch can do or is there another way? One update I am seeking to make is to add an attribute to a number of records to indicate their current year giving society level. What is the best way to do this?
Thanks!

Your best method would be to import the information. If you have a query that can isolate your population you can then build an attribute import. below is the knowledgebase article on creating the import file.

As Derek said, if you can group the records into a constituent query one option for adding a constituent attribute is Administration > Global Add. Not all fields are options in Global Add, but if I needed to add one that was there, I found that to be a bit easier than import.
There are also some updates that can be done through Global Change.
