Gift entry efficiency

We process over 1000 split gifts each month - some with over 10 splits. We have an EFT program, but unfortunately many churches still give via check. What is the most efficient way to process these monthly gifts in RE without having to enter the same gift splits month after month? Our previous donor software had a feature called "gift picture," which was a default set of the donor's usual monthly gift (with splits). This auto-populated with the click of a button and the new monthly donation was done in a matter of seconds, if no adjustments needed to be made. Is there anything like this in RE?

would making it a recurring gift make entry simpler with following entries?  We've just started looking into recurring gifts but I would think that this would be the purpose in making them recurring?

RE does something similar to the "gift picture" with a recurring batch, which can be committed more than once. We don't use them here so I can't offer much advice on them, but there's some articles in the Knowledgebase that might help if you're not familiar with creating batches.
