More than one merchant account?

Is it possible for us to have more than one merchant account associated with our organization on Blackbaud? We want to have a different merchant account associated with a specific campaign/event, and not use our "default merchant account." Hi Roberta,

Yes, it is possible to have more than one merchant account. Many orgs with complex accounting rules (ie. a 503c3 / PAC / 503c4, etc) will have multiple merchant accounts. The KB article, "How to set up additional BBMS accounts" has information. If you run into any issues, support or our customer success team can help with this.

If you are using BBMS they have an option to have something like 'partitions' that act like separate accounts, so you can segment stuff for finance without paying for a whole separate merchant account.


We use this to separate product sales from our store from pure philanthropy.

Thanks, Brian Mucha‍ , that's good to know and a great way to segment. In this particular case, we do actually have to separate funds and put them into different merchant accounts, but it's good to know that the other option exists.
