Retaining original date on tax receipt
Adaha John
Hi all, I'm trying to figure out how to retain the original date on tax receipts. The auto update on time and date format is off but every time I open a merged Word file the date is automatically changed to the current date. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try deleting the date line from the document (maybe even save doc) and then key in the date you want. Do not accept any auto population it may provide. Save document. This has worked for me in the past. May depend on your Word/software version.

If that is result of merge process in RE, you'd need to edit the merge doc not the after product.

It's a bit cumbersome, but we always check the date on the gift record that the tax receipt was created and then change the computer system date to that date before opening up the document. Once we are done, we change the computer system date back again to the proper date.
