First Time Member Report

I am very new to Altru and I am wondering if there is an easy way to pull a report or query that pulls first time members only. I want to report on those who are brand new members for FY20. Any help would be great!

    Build a membership query:





    Membership transaction type = JOIN and membership transaction date
    you want to hone in on, i.e. transaction date = this calendar
    year





    Make sure you set up both filters with AND and it should output all
    new members who joined this year.

    It is pulling members with lapsed memberships. We are looking for true brand new members. Do you know how to get rid of the lapsed members?

    Set up your filters like this:





    Membership Transaction\\Transaction date (date only) is this
    calendar year


    and Membership Transaction\\Action is equal to Join





    This should output only Active memberships - at least that is what
    my query is outputting. I even added "Status" to my output to make
    sure and my query is only showing Active memberships.
