Searching for PO Boxes

Hello,


My organization recently switch from The Raiser's Edge 7 to Raiser's Edge NXT. While searching in NXT for a record via PO Box, no results come up. When I search for a donor who I know has a PO Box, their record pulls up with the PO Box as the primary address. When we search for a street address, it pulls those records up just fine. 


Database view still searches for PO Boxes with no problem.


Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix?

Are you searching for "PO Box" using NXT search?  I didn't know NXT did searches by anything other than name.   If it does, hope someone will explain easy way to do so.

JoAnn, I've been able to use the magnifying glass to search by name, address - except PO Boxes -(it even searches by previous addresses) and phone numbers.

LOL Interesting.  I earlier typed in my street address and result was no records found. Tested before replying to your post. 


Typed it in now and it found me.   But, no PO Box results even when I enter an existing # doesn't find record. Odd.


I don't use NXT much but good to know that it does work, well at least sometimes.

Megan, did you ever find an answer to this? I am new to using NXT instead of DB view and I also tried to search for a PO Box with no results, that's going to be a problem!

No answer, I did bring it up to a Blackbaud rep not too long after the original post. Hopefully they get this fixed soon, especially with the transition to NXT being forced next year. Someone added this in the Idea Bank but it doesn't have very many votes, but it may be worth it to vote if you can.

Trying to copy paste from idea bank just doesn't work for me. LOL These are 2 ideas about PO Boxes.

I hadn't remembered that is was an issue. I know several large donors that use PO Boxes for privacy. Gift officers using a radius search when trip planning could be missing potential!
