restraining orders

I need to figure out how to notify Teachers & Staff that there is a physical restraining order on a parent. This parent can not be removed because custody orders state he can access school records/teachers etc. This is our first year on K-12. We previously had education edge and we could make a note which would pop up when someone opened the student. Does anyone have a suggestion. I am not so much worried about the actual document. It is the notification of staff & faculty.  Thanks, Jeannie O

We created an official note type that only goes to a student's teachers and advisors (which includes the class dean for us) and is not visible or sent to parents/student.  That's what we would use for this type of communication.  We don't have a way to show a message for a student's record - but maybe you could use a custom field that's only visible to staff for that purpose - but the official note out seemed to do the trick.

Thank you David! This was one of  my thoughts, so glad to hear it is working for you. My IT colleague has suggested looking at Learning Profiles as well. If anyone out there has attempted that I would love to hear if it worked out
