Using BBIS for Sponsorship E-Mails

We are starting to use the BBIS Email functionality, however we are running into problems when we attempt to email our sponsors, especially those sponsors that sponsor more than one child.  The BBIS list only supports Constituent Export Definitions, so we cannot limit the email to only 1 child record for the email.  The filtering on the export definition is too limited to help.

Has anyone else solved this problem.

  • Hi Tony!

Yes, there are problems with sending emails through BBIS related to sponsorship. I can't say that we have solved it completely, but here is what we have learned. At times we send emails through BBIS and other times through Sponsorship Email Efforts in BBCRM. IF we need to send an email to all Sponsors with a child in a particular country, we have not been able to do that through BBIS, but have been able to do that as Sponsorship Email Effort in BBCRM. In BBIS, we have had the most success in being able to set up these emails when a note was added to the child the previous day. So for instance, if a child's information has been updated, and we add a note of type "Child Update" - we can then send an email the next day for all Sponsors who have a child with a "Child Update" note added yesterday. AND because the note is on a specific child, we can then reference that child specifically in the email.

We're still working on sending more complicated emails (incorporating child info with revenue info for instance) but even this much has allowed us to be able to send some emails. I'll let you know if we get the rest solved. :)

    Hoping even this much helps.

    Ruth
