Spouse and Spouse/Partner Relationship

Is there any plan to consolidate these two relationships types? Currently we have users in both and would love for lists' and consistency's sake to have only one of them since Spouse is included in Spouse/Partner. It seems redundant to have both.

We made the decision early on to use Spouse/Partner ONLY. I would de-active the Spouse option, then change the existing records. I would assume that you could do this easily through Data Import (you'll want to pull out the info, update it in the spreadsheet and import it back into Core).

That makes sense...unfortunately by the time I got to the data, many records had been already made as Spouse, not Spouse/Partner. I came here because a Blackbaud support agent had told me an import probably wouldn’t work to replace a relationship and not just add another one, but it turns out it does!

Somewhere between moving from EE to Enrollment management the terminology Spouse/Partner was added so most of our Spouses also have Spouse/Partner on their records, export import didn't help in getting rid of the Spouse/Partner relationship - the import just over looked it.  So we have been fixing manually user lists of parents when we have time to do data maintenance
