Membership Recognition Credits

We are at a point where we are having an issue with recognition credits on memberships related to charitable gift fund payouts on behalf of donor advised funds for the actual member. For example Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund on behalf of John Smith, both need a form of recognition on the gift but Altru does not have that ability within their Membership function.


Has anyone found a way to handle this?

Curious why the membership would belong to Fidelity at all and not only to John Smith? It's John Smith who's making the donation, even though the cash comes from Fidelity.

Hi Heather,

The membership is technically for John Smith but the distribution of the gift is via Fidelity because they are paying out on behalf of John Smith's DAF. They technically both need recognition on the gift itself despite being a membership for John Smith. When working through memberships we can only give one of them credit when while the membership is only John Smith the gift itself needs credit to both.

I think I've got it now - The membership function inside Altru doesn't allow for proper credit inside the gift as well as the membership at the same time? Like it wants to give both the membership and both the credit and not the way you want it - which is credit to both and the membership only to John Smith?
