Grant Tracking within RE NXT

Hello!

Our org. recently upgraded to RE NXT. Does anyone use RE NXT to track grants somehow? I have read about ALTRU but financially that is not an option for us at this time. Financial Edge is not an option either....Maybe in the future!

    Depending on what you want to track, you can use Attributes/custom fields for activity related to a grant or a fund to track them. If you let me know what types of things you want to track for grants, I can try to help you.

    We actually track a lot of grants with the Prospect module (they're called Proposals in database view, Opportunities in RE NXT).


    We set up each grant ask as a Proposal and we can attach actions to the grants we we move it through various stages. We created a bunch of attributes for tracking and we can mostly use the existing fields of ask amount, expected amount and funded amount to make general predictions and run reports on progress.


    It isn't perfect (we don't count all grants as fundraising here) and it can't handle a lot of complexity (we're a little stumped on how to count received grant money from multiple years that doesn't flow through gift processing) but for quick tracking it works pretty well.
