Actions for Spousal records

Hello,


I was asked to create a process to copy actions from HOH to the spouse records. I was thinking that I'd create a query to identify the actions and play with the import tool to get them into the spousal record. I was wondering if anyone has already dealt with this that could give me any pointers or warnings?


I'm also wondering if there are red flags I should bring up to the fundraisers to have them determine if I should even do this? i.e. reporting, tracking, etc.

Tracking things between spouses has been an interesting task for a while.


If you copy actions are you copying all regardless of status? In process or only completed? If all, who will go and mark both records as completed?


If you do any type of analysis/performance measures based on actions your numbers will be inflated.


Are you only copying actions for assigned solicitor/fundraiser? If another staff member emails or calls will you copy those too?


I can see it being tricky to track what actions have already been imported and which ones need to be done.


Since you asked about red flags...these are things I would certainly want to have considered even if they are just 'yellow' flags.

As I was thinking of this project, I was thinking that I'd only pull completed actions; the MGO would mark it completed. I should probably find out if all actions need to be copied or just certain ones, ie. copy only visits? I guess I get to plan a meeting for further internal discussion. ?
