Is there a way to test an event registration page in LO? I tried the same credentials that I use to test the donation forms, but it's not working in the event registrations.

Unfortunately those steps aren't working. This isn't a team raiser event and the regular event registration form isn't giving me any kind of test option.

I'm not as familiar with the regular event forms as I am with TeamRaiser. Since the test feature isn't working, you could add a temporary participant type with no fee to test out the form/confirmation. I've done this with other event platforms to make sure everything is working as intended.

Hi Rebecca, you're right; there isn't a Test Drive or anything like it for Calendar Events. One way you can test is to step through and buy a ticket for real. If you want to avoid payment, you can create a new Ticket Type with $0 cost, and add a promotion code to it. That will make it so only people with a special link containing the promocode can see that particular Ticket Type. Then, you have to write that link. If your promocode is “stafftest,” for example, add this to the end of your event URL: &s_promoCode=stafftest

Just be aware that unlike Test Drive, this will be an actual ticket purchase. But later on, you can Cancel your test tickets if you wish. I hope this is helpful!

Yes, it's true that there is no way to test calendar event registrations other than actually signing up for the event. An evergreen complaint at our org, in fact. And, I think there's at least one, if not more, Idea request for it in the Ideas forum (https://luminateonline.ideas.aha.io ) - which is where (in my past experience) good ideas go to die ?

It would be super helpful indeed, to have such a test feature, particularly for paid events. However, Andrea Fleisher has posted an interesting-looking work-around. Good luck!

And Grace, I agree wholeheartedly, the idea bank is where good ideas go to die. So sad. There is a lot of gold in there...if someone would just listen.

That's what I do. When you're done testing, just go to Manage instead of Edit and cancel the registration. If you are also using LCRM, cancel the registration in LO first, then go to the LCRM event and cancel it there.
