Peer to Peer Fundraising

Hi All - Just wondering how others record peer to peer fundraising gifts without the RE P2P software? During our annual fundraiser, we have one individual who solicits her friends to raise money to honor one of our long time employees. In the past, when the gift was recorded, there was just a note made in the reference section of the gift. I am fairly new to this org and would like to record these gifts differently so they are easier to track. Look forward to any suggestions and thanks in advance.

If you're using RE, then I'd put them as a solicitor, with a P2P type, and then she'd be recorded as the solicitor for the gifts during gift entry. That's how I'd do it. Reports and queries/exports can all happen with this method.

we do the same as Heather. The fundraiser is the solicitor on the gift. We also have a special appeal for the event so we know if it came from P2P versus a straight gift.

What online product are you using for the P2P and how are you getting the gifts into RE?

We use Engaging Networks and it has a special plug in that we set up to put the solicitor on the gift automatically.

I also set up all fundraisers with event records and at the end of the event use an attribute to record the total they raised.
