Any recommendations for RE Consultants who do data migration?

We recently merged with another nonprofit who is using RE. We now would like to migrate 14,000 records over to our RE database and need of a good consultant that can do this? Any recommendations? Please respond here or contact me at rmagana@momentum4all.org thank you for your help with my inquiry.

Hi Rafael-

We merged two RE databases in 2019 and I'm still cleaning things up.

If I had to do it all over again I'd hire Blackbaud as at least they have access to the back end, which I think using Omatic to get all files into the database was our big issue.

Are you only integrating constituents or is there gift and other information?

You might try RESolutionsTech. Robin Porter is the owner. They did this for me at a company I was previously at. It went great.

I mean, if we had to do this, I would probably just do it myself using RE's built-in Import. You would need to do several rounds of Import though, as Constituent Imports are a different sweep than associated Gifts, etc. The most time-intensive part will be the preliminary cleanup work in the support structure - making sure all your incoming Titles match the Titles in your tables, making sure all the Gift Appeals have an existing Appeal ready to go in your system before import, etc.

The fact, thought, that certain NXT features don't transfer in database view makes me think that if you use NXT pictures, gift attachments, or other non-transferrable items heavily, then hiring Blackbaud would probably be your best choice, as already suggested.
